Drew Barrymore and ex-husband Tom Green reunite after nearly 20 years
Drew Barrymore reunited with ex-husband Tom Green for the first time in nearly two decades on the set of his eponymous talk show on Tuesday.
Green joined his ex-wife and TV personality Ross Matthews for the Barrymore show’s âDrew’s Newsâ segment, in which Green opened up about his year-long road trip. The two also remembered their honeymoon in Ireland, which included mountain hikes, a furry sheep, a “mini graveyard” of headstones, and hopping into “random oceans” and “random fields.”
âIt was one of my favorite trips of my life,â Barrymore said.
Barrymore married Green in July 2001, after starting a romance with the actor-comedian on the set of “Charlie’s Angels” in 2000.
âIt was so exciting doing this movie with you,â Green told Barrymore last year, during a remote appearance on âThe Drew Barrymore Showâ. “And you know, we kinda hit it off right away. We had a lot of laughs together.”

At the time, Green recalled fondly one of their first dates. âWe went to buy lobsters because we both love animals⦠and we released them into the ocean. That’s what we decided to do.â
The two eventually separated after Green filed for divorce six months later in 2002.
âI really love you and I celebrate you,â Barrymore told Green last year. âYou’ve had a lifetime and I’ve had a lifetime. It’s really nice to get together, check in and talk about it.
âIt thrills me endlessly. I celebrate you, and I always have and always will. “

Ross Matthews said on Tuesday that seeing the ex-spouses together was “so surreal,” but Green said reuniting on Barrymore’s show was “a good way to reconnect.”
“It takes a bit of the pressure off,” Green said, adding that it too felt “a bit like an out-of-body experience.”
âIt’s very nice to see you (Barrymore). It’s still weird,â he continued. “Not weird in a bad way: weird in a good way.”
Matthews also asked Green, “Would you ever go to an ex’s wedding.” Green replied, “I’ve never been to an ex’s wedding,” before giving Barrymore a cheerful look.
After her marriage to Green, Barrymore married actor Will Kopelman in June 2012. The couple separated in August 2016. They share two daughters: Olive, 9, and Frankie, 7.
Green then played on the awkward moment and told Mattews it “made sense not to probably go to an ex’s wedding.” Barrymore agreed: “I think so too.”
