George Clooney claims he’s not in The Flash because he destroyed the Batman franchise
In the summer of 1997, Batman & Robin hit the screens and crowds of Caped Crusader fans rushed to get their tickets. It had a star cast including George Clooney as our mysterious masked hero, Arnold Schwarzenegger as Mr. Freeze, Uma Thurman as Poison Ivy, Chris O’Donnell as Robin and Alicia Silverstone in the role of Batgirl. Joel Schumacher would exercise his talents as a director. He would team up with writer Akiva Goldsman again, following their critically acclaimed blockbuster A time to kill knocked out the audience the year before.
Fans and the franchise needed a win after the lackluster Batman forever, with Val Kilmer replacing Michael Keaton as Bruce Wayne / Batman, alongside Tommy Lee Jones as Harvey Two-Face, Jim Carrey as Riddler, Nicole Kidman as Dr Chase Meridian and Drew Barrymore as Sugar.
Enter Batman and robin. The premise was promising. The movie finds Batman (George clooney) and his partner, Robin (Chris O’Donnell), attempting to thwart the sinister plans of a disturbed set of new villains, including the melancholy Mr. Freeze (Arnold Schwarzenegger), who wants to make Gotham an arctic region, and the sensual Poison Ivy (Uma Thurman), a femme fatale who loves plants. As the Dynamic Duo take on these villains, a third hero, Batgirl (Alicia Silverstone), joins the ranks of the city’s crime fighters.
His claim to fame in the franchise would be the lowest box office of any Batman movie ever made. He also claims a whopping 12% on Rotten Tomatoes The reviews were too painful to read. So when asked to return to DC as Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton returned for Flash, he replied, “They didn’t ask me. When you destroy a franchise like I did, they usually look away when Flash past.”
“He won’t let me look at him,” Clooney’s wife, Amal, interjected. George explained, “There are some movies that I just saw, ‘I want my wife to have a little respect for me.’” Amal says the kids will someday do that. want to watch it, George replied, “It’s bad when your four-year-old says, ‘This sucks.’ It could be painful. “
Andy Muschietti conducts Flash from a screenplay by Christina Hodson. The film is part of the DCEU, which means it takes place in a universe where Ben Affleck was previously established as Batman. Michael Keaton’s appearance as Batman is expected to happen in the same movie. Ezra Miller will be our Barry Allen / The Flash. No plot details have been given, but a host of rumors surround the project.
Now if Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton can fit in Flash, that leaves everything wide open to others. Maybe they’ll sneak in one of those mid-credit surprises, and there we’ll see Mr. Clooney all dressed up in latex? Tell me it wouldn’t be hysterical. Flash is slated for release in the US on November 4, 2022. This news originates from Variety.
