Golden Globe nominations for Nicole Kidman, Sarah Snook, Jane Campion, The Power of the Dog, Belfast, Succession, Squid Game
Drama films The power of the dog and Belfast led the nominations for the annual Golden Globes in a year marred by controversy and a scaled-down ceremony.

Belfast set in 1970s Northern Ireland, and the director Jane campionWestern’s The Power of the Dog got seven nods apiece.
They were followed by a satire on global warming Do not seek, king richard, on the father of tennis champions Venus and Serena Williams; the new take on the classic musical from director Steven Spielberg West Side Story and coming of age tale Licorice Pizza with four each.
Lady Gaga (House of Gucci), Nicole kidman (Being the Ricardos), Will smith (King Richard), Kristen stewart (Spencer) and Denzel Washington (The Tragedy of Macbeth) were nominated in the Drama categories.
On the television side, there were five nominations for Succession, including Sarah snook as best actress in a supporting role, four for Ted lasso and three for Squid game.
Golden Globe winners will be announced on January 10, Australian time, but the format of the ceremony is unclear after broadcaster NBC scrapped plans to televise the awards amid controversy over the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA), the group that votes them .
It’s also unclear whether any of the nominees will attend the 2022 ceremony, which had been one of Hollywood’s biggest awards show in the run-up to the Oscars.
Snoop Dogg was the only celebrity on hand to announce the nominations.
