We were excited for the Ms. Marvel television series since its first announcement. The Disney + series will follow the adventures of Kamala Khan, a Pakistani-American teenager from New Jersey who can stretch limbs and change shape, among other powers. Khan, who is played by newcomer Iman Vellani, will be Marvel’s first Muslim hero on screen as the studio enters its most diverse phase yet.

This week, photos of Vellani appeared in her superhero costume:

Colors! The sneakers! The reason! This costume is very faithful to the one from the comics and fits (hehe) the hero. Fans online were quick to express their excitement for the look and the series:

Ms. Marvel is expected to hit Disney + later this year. Vellani should also appear in Captain Marvel 2, which premieres in November 2022.
