Nicole Kidman laughs at throwback photos with Keith Urban in new interview

Nicole Kidman appeared shy as she briefly covered her face with her hands during a new interview with CBS Matinees co-host Gayle King. The award-winning actress laughed as King presented the photos that Kidman and her husbandcountry giant Keith Urbanshared during their 15th anniversary celebration.

Kidman and Urban tied the knot in June 2006. The couple shared photos of each other on Instagram to mark their 15th wedding anniversary last year. While sharing the throwback, King couldn’t help but ask for the story behind the photo Kidman chose to share. Kidman, on the other hand, couldn’t help but laugh at the differences between the photos she and her husband chose: “Keith’s was (a photo where) we’re in pajamas. Mine was a little more…” she said with a laugh. “What does that say about us? »

Urban’s photo shows him hugging his wife as the couple smile in front of a Christmas tree. They don matching pajamas patterned with candy canes, gingerbread cookies and other festive items. “Happy birthday babygirl!!!!!!! my life started when you said ‘yes’ 5475 days ago today,” Urban captioned with heart and rose emojis. Kidman, in revenge, opted for a hot photo of Urban licking her neck, adding some lipstick-brand emoticons to her own caption: “Happy birthday baby!”

Despite the differing anniversary messages, Kidman told King that she and her husband are great together, “We’re a mix. We are very suitable. I am incredibly lucky to have met him. I met him – you know, like Lucy did, like Lucy met Desi – I met him later in life, and that’s the most – the best thing that ever happened to me. This man is the best thing that ever happened to me.”

Kidman joined King for a virtual interview to talk about his gaming experience Lucille Ball – and Lucia Ricardo — in his new film, Be the Ricardos. Kidman played the comedy icon opposite Javier Bardem like Desi Arnaz. Earlier this month, Kidman won a Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture Drama. When she won the award, Urban applauded his wife’s “spellbinding” performance.

Offering his best wishes to Kidman, King noted that “the Oscar nominations are coming up.”

So far, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences revealed the 10 category shortlists for the 94th Academy Awards. Voting for the nomination continues until Tuesday (February 1). Nominations will be announced on February 8 and the Oscars will take place on Sunday, March 27.
