Tom Holland Completed His MCU Trilogy With ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’

Unless they’re Chris Hemsworth playing Thor, Marvel actors tend to have trilogies and then they leave the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But while that probably won’t be the case for Tom Holland, Spider-Man: No Coming Home felt like it could serve as an end to his character.

In addition to celebrating three generations of cinema, the third MCU Spider Man The film featured the story of Peter Parker coming full circle. He’s had a different journey than Tobey Maguire’s character or Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man, as he exists in a vast universe where the Avengers are constantly fighting massive battles. Corn Spider-Man: No Coming Home left with Peter in a situation similar to where Maguire and Garfield’s characters began.

No one knows who Peter is, and he’s just a friendly neighborhood Spider-Man living in a shitty apartment. As much as fans want to see Peter reunite with MJ and Ned, this potential ending was more than satisfying. Of course, no one would refuse to see Tom Holland dress up as Spider-Man in future movies.

Tom Holland Reveals He’s Had Discussions With Execs About Returning As Spider-Man

While promoting his latest film UnexploredTom Holland discussed his future in the MCU with Entertainment Weekly.

“We’ve had conversations about the potential future of Spider-Man, but right now they’re conversations,” the actor explained. “We don’t know what the future will look like.”

He added that he thinks Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, Sony Pictures president Tom Rothman and producer Amy Pascal are “thinking about something… But right now, I don’t know what it is”.

But Tom Holland isn’t as focused on the future as he’s currently trying to cash in on the triumph that is Spider-Man: No Coming Home. The actor said he “didn’t really think about the future. I’m still riding the wave of the film’s success and enjoying it.

Actor will appear in at least one more Marvel movie

At Spider-Man: No Coming Home First, Tom Rothman discussed Sony’s plans with Tom Holland with ComicBook.com.

“No specific plan,” Rothman said. “But it’s mutual. We lend one, so [Marvel Studios] lends one, and that’s how Benoît [Cumberbatch] is in this movie. So we have one more loan that is committed.

He added: “But the thing I can say, and that’s actually the exact scoop on this, is that the two companies have a great working relationship, and I think that’s a mutual hope that will continue. But there’s really nothing definitive yet because the truth is we have to ride this pup and see what happens.

So, Tom Holland will appear as Spider-Man in another MCU movie. Whether it be Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness or another film is in debate. For now, Marvel is clearly keeping the actor’s appearance in the mystery film silent.

Spider-Man: No Coming Home now playing in theaters.
